Digital Signage Player Case Study – VGL
SureVues keep Aguas Andinas in the loop
When it came time to improve organization communication and workflow, Aguas Andinas, the company in charge of water supply and treatment in Chile, chose VGL to install a complex internal digital signage network. By using four SureVues for the elevators and one more at the dining room, Aguas Andinas is able to reach almost all of its personnel, keeping them up to date on daily news and projects.
The Challenge
In order to reach all of the personnel within their large facility, the screens were installed in the building’s elevators. This meant that operating conditions for the players would be complicated, and the player would need to have a small footprint and a reliable thermal solution to prevent failures due to overheating. The players would also need a wireless connection to the network. VGL and Aguas Andinas were looking for a reliable solution that was built for long hours of continuous use and extreme conditions. This installation would be responsible for delivering daily updates and information to the entire facility, so any downtime would be costly for Aguas Andinas. Additionally, because the players were to be installed in elevators, repairs would be incredibly disruptive, requiring the elevator to be shut down.
“For this Scala project, we needed to display the information inside the elevators in order to reach all of the people circulating inside the building efficiently. This was the cause of most of our problems – connectivity, operating conditions, and installation” said Florencia Bunster, Product Manager, Digital Signage at VGL.
The Solution
sureVue3A digital signage PC player
VGL Chose the sureVue3A for this project because of its wireless connectivity and rugged design. The sureVue3A was easily installed inside the elevator, and featured a customized fanless thermal solution capable of cooling the player in the tight operating conditions of the installation. Ease of set-up was also a deciding factor for VGL, according to Florencia Bunster, Product Manager, Digital Signage at VGL, “The SureVue already had an operating system and Scala Player installed, which facilitated the installation and gave us a true plug-and-play solution”
VGL and Aguas Andinas have both been incredibly pleased with the sureVue3A performance and reliability so far, with absolutely no downtime since the installation went live.
“We had MediaVue’s advice from the beginning, which consistently gave us confidence in our decision to use SureVue players for this project.” – Florencia Bunster, Product Manager, Digital Signage at VGL.
