Each digital signage installation is unique. The networking infrastructure, required software, and the look and feel of the operation often vary significantly. While some of our competitors advertise certified embedded images for their hardware, they usually offer a single stock image for each platform, designed and built by a remote contractor. MediaVue takes a different approach, doing all our work in house, and drawing upon long standing relationships with many of the digital signage software developers. This unique approach allows us to respond quickly to our customer’s demands, and create a solution tailored to meet their specific needs.

The Windows Embedded operating system is designed by Microsoft, and available only to OEM system builders. With Microsoft’s development kit, MediaVue is able to build custom versions of the Windows operating system tailored to meet the needs of our customers.

Unlike starting with an off the shelf version of Windows, and removing unnecessary or problematic features and software, Windows Embedded is built from the ground up. Error messages, automatic updates, driver conflicts, software interactions, and all other anomalous behavior common in consumer and enterprise versions of Windows are eliminated in Windows Embedded.

On top of having unmatched reliability, there are features which are found exclusively in Windows Embedded. Enhanced Write Filter (EWF) protects the operating system’s integrity by writing any changes made to the system memory, and when rebooted the operating system is restored to its factory state. With EWF enabled, you can be confident that your SureVue will recover from any unintended changes made to the operating system.

Each SureVue is also equipped with a full recovery partition, allowing our customers to quickly and easily restore their entire hard drive image to the original factory state. SureVues also have the ability to be remotely booted, using the Wake on LAN utility.

All of these features are built into each of our Windows Embedded images. MediaVue employs a full time dedicated Windows Embedded engineer, who like the rest of our staff is also a fully trained Scala Certified Technician. We are able to combine our knowledge of Windows Embedded with our understanding of the demands in a digital signage network, and the end result is the most stable, turn-key solution available on the market today.
