Seaworld creates digital coral reef with MediaVue

Scaling Digital Signage for the Future

SeaWorld Parks & Entertainment in Orlando, Florida has embraced digital signage technology for the past decade. Asmore options in the industry have become available, SeaWorld Parks & Entertainment has been able to scale their program and incorporate digital signage into many aspects of the Florida Parks. Screens were originally used to display employee information in a corporate communications use case. Success with these types of installations led them to start using screens in customer-facing locations including lobbies and gift shops, and even integration into their point of sale system. Their program now scales across six cities and five states. As some older players started to phase out, the SeaWorld tech team tested other options to seamlessly replace the units they had. MediaVue System’s D4 and D6 players became the go-to devices to power the Florida Park’s incredible video walls.

Creative Ideas, Simple Solutions

The Florida Parks have pushed creative boundaries with their digital signage program. Under the direction of Brent Vescogni, Director of Information Technology, his team created an installation that is the first of its kind in North America. Using the latest LG Flexible OLED screens, Brent and his team created a “video ring” in Seaworld Orlando’s newly remodeled SeaWorld Store. Ten of these flexible fifty-five inch screens hang from the ceiling and form aseamless, circular video arrangement approximately fourteen feet in diameter.

Content is designed to fit in this expansive display, and looks as if it is continually moving around the “video ring”. It only takes one MediaVue D6 player to run all of these screens and support the content, making this one-of-a-kind installation not only possible, but simple and outstanding.

Brent and his team are rightfully proud of the work they have done, and are eager to continue with these creative types of deployments. Visitors travel to the Florida Parks for unique experiences, so wowing visitors with cutting-edge digital technology reinforces this.
